Many singers find that the voice changes as they pass through life. This was true in my case. I was having difficulties from 1995 to 1999. I tried so many singing teachers in this period. Some knew what they were doing but many more exacerbated the challenges.

However, when Sir Richard Armstrong persuaded me to sing the mezzo role of Amneris things changed monumentally.

With the knowledge I had accumulated over many years of singing I was able to rework my voice back into the mezzo fach. This was achieved with serious aerobic breathing exercises and vocalisation allowing my voice to find its natural dark colour again securing a good middle and lower range. Thus I began my second career as a mezzo-soprano.

From Scottish Opera and Opera New Zealand, mezzo offers now came from Paris, The Met and best of all Covent Garden.
